Title
Autologous Blood Injection for Overfiltering Bleb
Description:
Demonstrates of an autologous blood injection for an eye with symptomatic hypotony associated with excessive filtration. Blood is drawn from anticubital fossa and placed in a sterile syringe. Using a 30-gauge needle, Dr. Moster injects 1 cc of blood directly into the bleb. You’ll notice an obvious reflux hemorrhage into the anterior chamber. Dr. Moster advises against placing a viscoelastic in the chamber as it minimizes the effectiveness of the procedure.
