Title
Posterior Lentiglobus and Ruptured Posterior Capsule
Description:
Dr. M. Edward Wilson shares a case of a posterior lentiglobus with a posterior capsule that had spontaneously ruptured prior to surgery. Dr. Wilson implants a 3-piece acrylic IOL in the ciliary sulcus using membrane capture.

Title
Posterior Lenticonus and IOL Exchange
Description:
Dr. Ken Wright shares a case of a posterior lenticonus. Following uneventful capsulectomy and cortical cleanup, the surgeon injects an IOL into the bag, which sinks to the anterior vitreous.

Title
Posterior Capsular Prolapse
Description:
Dr. Chris Rudnisky presents a case of prolapsed capsular bag during cataract surgery, a rare complication. During irrigation and aspiration, the I/A tip easily picks up the posterior capsule, indicating zonular weakness. When the surgeon irrigates the final strands of cortex through the wound, the posterior capsule is drawn with them. The surgeon attempts to replace the capsule, but then chooses to avoid further damage and remove the tip. The posterior capsule reposits itself spontaneously and the case is successfully completed.

Podcast: Predictive Modeling of the Cornea for Custom Astigmatism Correction
Description:
In this audio interview, Dr. Lisa Arbisser talks with Dr. Harald Studer, a biomechanical engineer at Integrated Scientific Services, who has developed software that simulates the biomechanics of the human cornea. This software predicts postoperative topography following cataract surgery, making it possible for surgeons to create a highly predictable and custom plan for limbal relaxing incisions with a femtosecond laser.

Podcast: IOL Centration Demystified
Description:
With the advent of diffractive multifocal IOLs, precise centration of the lens has become paramount. In today's discussion, Dr. Lisa B. Arbisser speaks with optics expert Dr. Jack T. Holladay about how to center an IOL and save patients from the waxy vision, glare, and loss of contrast often associated with higher-order aberrations. Should the lens be centered on the optical, visual, or pupillary center, or instead with Purkinje images? Doc Holladay has the answer.
